In preparation for my first press release, I made a press kit page.
I wrote a short description, arranged some screenshots, made a better logo (still not final) and made the first and very rough trailer cut.
The trailer is a little too long and I want to add some narration, but not until I have a more final cut. Mikey & Grover's Unexpected Adventures - Press Kit
I finally started working on my greens. I started with the palm tree. I made a few types of tree trunks and separated branches, so I can move each one independently.
I did a lot of small changes in the game, here are some of them:
I wrote the basic theme for the beach music.
Changed subtitles and captions font.
Added an on screen inventory button and enabled inventory page scrolling when overlapping with a dragged item. Though I would probably end up expanding the inventory.
Added some car sound effects to the park.
Added some random variation to the footsteps volume and pitch, to make it sound more dynamic. I also reduced the overall stepping sound.
Spacebar is now also used to show the game's menu or to skip cutscenes. This is mainly for the online demo, since pressing escape cancels full screen mode.
You can now skip dialogue lines with > on the keyboard also.
Small hotpost that appear pickable items but are not really needed will now display a different message than hotspots that are meant to be used.
Changed bedroom poster text color (was clashing with the subtitles) and added transparent background to the walkie talkie message.
Showing active mouse cursor on inventory buttons and dialogue options.
There's also a new cutscene in progress. Nothing important to the story, just a fun eye candy to bond a little with Mikey.
