Last week I launched the alpha test for chapter 2 and so far it's going very well!
Some feedback already came in and more is on the way.
Since then I managed to add all the little things I needed for the beta version, including additional in-game animations, more music demos and some dialogues polish.
A bunch of bugs were reported and fixed, but happily none of them were major or game breaking.
It is safe to say the release is now pretty much in beta state, but I'll wait for some more feedback to come in, just in case.
Work on chapter 3 has begun, for now I'm mostly writing down the locations you'll be visiting with some details about the surroundings and the major puzzles you would have to solve. Once I'll have about half of it down I'll start drawing and implementing.
The 3rd chapter will include some new systems I would need to implement as Grover is going to be fully playable in it.
That means controlling and interacting as Grover, switching between the two characters, asking questions on the walkie talkie, exchanging inventory items and more.
I'm hoping to have the alpha version of chapter 3 ready by April 2023, wish me luck!
Here is a video with a few of the things I added to the alpha version, like rowing the dinghy, looking up when talking to npcs while in the boat, blinking was added to all characters and one of the new music demos for the island scene.
