Chapter 4 begins - Week #53

April 9 - April 15, 2023

This week I released chapter 3 for alpha testing.
A few testers already played it through and sent in their feedback and some are still on it.
So far the chapter is well received, which is great.
I was sure I killed all the bugs, but a couple were reported and were taken care of. Hopefully that will be it.

I decided to put the additional in-game animations on hold for the final round of polishing and move straight to working on chapter 4.
As with chapter 3, I will start by mapping out all the locations and come up with most of the puzzles before starting to draw or code anything.
Opposed to chapter 3 which was confined to a location, chapter 4 will feature a map with a variety of locations and some new characters.
Chapter 4 is going to be the most important so far, lure wise. A lot is going to unfold and a great deal of dialogues and key plot lines are going to be carefully written.
Due to those reasons and some other reasons, it is safe to say that chapter 4 is going to take longer to produce than chapter 3. It will probably be the longest one to produce and to play through within the whole game.

I will keep updating whenever I can while trying to avoid spoilers as much as possible.

Lastly, I noticed some confusion amongst my testers as to where a chapter ends and another begins.
While it is not really important, other than for testing purposes, I decided to add a little text header transitions between the chapters.
I already had the perfect spot to show this for chapter 1 and 3, but not for chapter 2. This gave me a good excuse to bring the demo ending cut-scene which only showed up in the demo into the full game and I wrote a little dialogue to go along with it. Check it out!
